Undergraduate studies

Study human society and our social world. Explore current issues like gender, social media, crime, environmentalism and social inequality. Develop strong analytical and communication skills through research, experiential learning and class discussions.

We offer BA major, minor and honours programs. UVic Sociology participates in the interdisciplinary minor/diploma program in social justice studies. You can complete a social justice studies minor or diploma while earning a BA in sociology.  UVic Sociology also participates in the community engaged learning program.

Our optional co-op program gives you paid, hands-on work experience in your field of study. It's the perfect way to develop your skills and find a career you love.
