Showing movies on campus

Campus events

I am organizing a movie night for a club/society on campus. Do I need to get permission to show the movie?

Movies may be shown on campus for educational or training purposes where:

  1. the primary audience consists of students,
  2. the movie is a legally-obtained copy (purchase, rental or library copy),
  3. the event is free to attend (i.e., there is no cover charge), and
  4. advertising for the event is limited to the campus community.

Events outside of this purpose require permission. Please contact Media Librarian Bill Blair.
