About Dr. Phillip T. Young
Dr. Phillip T. Young joined the UVic faculty in 1969 as Chair of the Department of Music (1969-1977) and was a professor at the School of Music for more than 20 years. He was a leading force in the newly established music department whose vision directly led to the construction of the School of Music building and the University Centre Auditorium. It is in his honour that the Recital Hall was named.
