Financing and awards
How fees are assessed
For graduate degree programs, tuition fees are based on program fees. Program fees consist of regular program fee instalments and graduate re-registration fees. Learn about tuition and costs.
Program fees are paid as full fee instalments (when you are registered in a full-time course load, i.e., 3.0 or more units) or half fee instalments (when you are registered in less than a full course load, i.e., less than 3.0 units).
If you are registered in a co-op work term, you will pay a co-op fee in addition to a program fee.
All certificate and diploma courses are 1.5 units. Part-time students pay fees per term, per credit unit. See fee details.

Special funding
Borders in Globalization
The Borders in Globalization research program and the Jean Monnet Initiative Comparing and Contrasting EU Border and Migration Policy have funding available for graduate students interested in pursuing research on border and/or migration policy. These programs are led by Emmanuel Brunet-Jailly and operate out of the Centre for Global Studies.
Interested applicants should contact borders@uvic.ca. Consideration for funding is automatic but priority will be given to applicants who indicate their interest in their letter of intent. A funding offer is normally included with an offer of admission.
