UVic Chorus

The UVic Chorus is directed by Dr. Kinza Tyrrell

  • Membership is open to the entire UVic community, as well as members of the greater Victoria area.
  • No audition is required.
  • Large ensemble of up to 150 singers.
  • Performs two concerts a year including participation in the all-UVic Choirs Annual Winter Concert at Christ Church Cathedral and with the UVic Orchestra in the spring semester.

About

The UVic Chorus is our choral ensemble comprised of up to 150 singers. Members of the Chorus include music majors, non-music majors, and members of the Victoria community.

The UVic Chorus performs significant works from the Classical canon as well as contemporary and newly commissioned works. In recent years, the Chorus has performed Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Mozart's Great Mass in c minor, Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Handel's Utrecht Te Deum, and Sunrise Mass by Ola Gjeilo.

Registration for community members

Update for September 2024: Chorus registration for community members will now be taken through Continuing Studies. Check back for details and a link when registration is available (mid-July 2024).
