Waitlists
The Department of Sociology occasionally gives priority to certain students who are waitlisted for a course. Normally, this happens in two circumstances:
- 4th Year students who have not yet completed the two 400-level courses that they require to fulfill their graduating requirements are given priority to get into those courses. Conversely, students who have already completed their two 400-level courses are given lower priority. If you are waitlisted for a course that you need to get into in order to graduate, then please contact the Administrative Officer, Sara Harding at sociologyao@uvic.ca. Please do not contact the instructor of the course directly.
- In some courses at the 200- and 300-level with heavy demand, instructors may give priority to waitlisted students who attend the first few classes of the term.
