Budgeting to fund your education

he cost of your education depends on you: how many classes you take, if you drive a car or take the bus, if you share accommodation or rent your own place.

Consider your particular circumstances together with these cost estimates.

Important fee payment deadlines

It is very important to ensure that payment is received by the appropriate deadline. You're encouraged to pay online to ensure payment is processed promptly. Contact the appropriate office if you have any questions or need to discuss payment alternatives:

How will I pay?

There are many ways you can fund your education at UVic from your personal savings, to loans, and on-campus work. UVic offers a number of financial supports and can assist you in applying for government loans and grants.

Student loans
  • Government: The federal government’s Canada Student Loan program is administered in conjunction with provincial and territorial governments. 

  • Banks: Unlike the government loans, banks charge interest while the student is in school.

Scholarships

UVic has recognized excellence through the generous scholarship program.

Bursaries

UVic offers a generous bursary program for student in financial need.

Work-study program

Eligible students may apply for UVic's work-study program which provides additional financial assistance through on-campus part-time employment opportunities - up to 340 hours per year - for students with documented financial need.
