Aaron Eley

Aaron Eley is a mechanical engineering student at the University of Victoria from Calgary, Alberta. His interests lay within clean energy field which he hopes to enter into upon graduation. This interest has brought him to the West Coast Wave Institute research group, where he has been a co-op student since May 2018. During his time with the group, he has worked on various aspects of the project, such as; development of the SWAN wave model, post processing code, wave resource assessment, data management, and buoy deployments off Vancouver Island. His most memorable experience with the group thus far, was preforming a helicopter assisted buoy rescue off the beach of Halfmoon bay.   

In his spare time, Aaron enjoys playing basketball and camping in remote areas around the island.
