Apply to year one of the BSN

The college partner sites determine the admissibility of students into the college portion of the program. For questions regarding admission to year one please contact the partner schools directly. 

Apply to the final semesters of the BSN after completing the college portion

This application process is specific to students who are presently completing the college portion of the BSN program and are now applying to the final semeseters as a UVic Student.

Please follow the steps below. There are application requirements for both UVic (Office of the Registrar) and the School of Nursing. 

There is one entry point (January), and the deadline is 4pm PST on September 30. 

Online application through UVic Undergraduate Admissions

Complete an online application through UVic Undergraduate Admissions. Please note, students applying from Aurora College are not required to pay the registration fee.

Your application specifics:

  • The faculty you are applying to is Human and Social Development (H&SD) and the program is Continuing Nursing.
  • Please indicate January entry point and include the names and dates of all post secondary institutions previously attended.
  • Failure to declare all post-secondary institutions previously attended on the application form may result in a cancelled application.

Required documentation for UVic Undergraduate Admissions

Request that all transcripts be mailed to you directly.

  • At the time of application, an official Aurora College "transcript-in-progress." (A transcript-in-progress indicates all nursing program required courses previously completed and those currently in-progress for semester five.)
  • Once your grades for semester five have been posted, an official Aurora College transcript documenting your completion of semester five.
  • A final official transcript from all other post-secondary educational institutes previously attended. (High school transcripts are not required.)

If you have already received your UVic student number please write it on the top right hand corner of each transcript envelope. Do not open the envelope.

After you have collected all transcripts, submit them by September 30th in one envelope to Undergraduate Admissions & Records.

Required documentation for the School of Nursing

Submit the following required documents in one envelope addressed to the School of Nursing.

  1. A new original copy municipal/RCMP criminal record check. Please indicate that you require a vulnerable sector check when ordering your criminal record check.

  2. A cheque for $25.00 fee to cover:

         $15.00 for the UVic School of Nursing name tag
         $10.00 for the required CNSA (Canadian Nursing Students' Association) membership fee.

*Make your cheque or money order payable to the University of Victoria, post-date to September 30th and if you have already received it, please write your UVic student number on the top right hand corner.

Online application through UVic Undergraduate Admissions

Complete an online application through UVic Admissions. You must submit a non-refundable $250.00 deposit to enable registration for your semester six classes. (This will be applied to your January - April tuition.)

Your application specifics:

  • The faculty you are applying to is Human and Social Development (H&SD) and the program is Continuing Nursing.
  • Please indicate January entry point and include the names and dates of all post secondary institutions previously attended.
  • Failure to declare all post-secondary institutions previously attended on the application form may result in a cancelled application.

  2. A cheque for $25.00 to cover:
  • $15.00 for the UVic School of Nursing name tag and
  • $10.00 for the required CNSA (Canadian Nursing Students' Association) membership fee

Make your cheque or money order payable to the University of Victoria, post-date to September 30, 2020 and if you have already received it, please write your UVic student number on the top right hand corner.

Optional: Completed application for the Dorothy Kergin Bursary (January to April). Submission is strongly encouraged.

Late or incomplete application packages will not be considered

Online Notice of Intent through UVic Undergraduate Records

You are required to complete a notice of intent through a direct link that will be sent via email, deadline for completing your notice of intent is September 30th

There is no fee for completing your notice of intent

When you submit your application you will be asked to include the names and dates of ALL post secondary institutions previously attended

Regardless of marks/grades received, you are required to list your previous institutions.

Required documentation for the School of Nursing

Submit the following required documents in one envelope addressed to

  1. A copy of Ministry of Public Safety and Soliticor General criminal record check.
  2. A cheque for $45.00 to cover:
    • $15.00 for the UVic School of Nursing name tag and
    • $10.00 for the required CNSA (Canadian Nursing Students' Association) membership fee
    • $20.00 Island Health proximity card fee.

Make your cheque or money order payable to the University of Victoria, post-date to September 30, 2021 and if you have already received it write your UVic student number on the top right hand corner.

Submit the following by email to

  1. Photocopy of your current basic life support certificate (level C or higher).
    The School of Nursing recognizes basic life support certification as valid for two years from the date of issue. Your basic life support certification must be current for the duration of the Jan-Apr term (must be current through April 30th). Please note online certification or re-certification will not be accepted.
  2. Evidence of personal respirator/mask fit-test.
    The School of Nursing recognizes mask-fit certification as valid for one year from the date of issue. Once you receive your up-to-date mask fit test during semester five, please email a copy of it to nursing@uvic.ca. Your mask fit-test must be current for the duration of the Jan-Apr term (must be valid through April 30). Students must be fit-tested before initial use of their personal respirators.

Optional: Completed application for the Dorothy Kergin Bursary (January to April). Submission is strongly encouraged.
