Not sure? Apply as an "Undeclared" student

If you're not ready to choose a program, apply to the Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Science or Faculty of Social Sciences to start at UVic as an "Undeclared" student. You can take a variety of classes to explore your options, then declare your program after one or more years of full-time study.

Post-graduation work permits

Full-time international students who graduate from a bachelor’s degree program at UVic may be eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) in Canada for up to three years. Refer to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website for eligibility criteria.

If you intend to complete a non-degree program only, such as a diploma, certificate or post-baccalaureate program, please review IRCC’s field of study requirements to determine if your intended program is eligible for a PGWP.

Please note: Students who complete a program that is more than 50% distance learning (i.e. less than 50% in person) are not eligible for a PGWP.
