Visit us
Members of the university community, researchers from other institutions, and the public in general may access the Transgender Archives at no charge.
- Before your visit, please take note of our hours and location.
- Photo ID is required to view requested material.
- No appointment is needed. Once you arrive, speak to the staff at the desk and they will gladly assist you.
- Because our materials are rare and one-of-a-kind, we are a "closed archives" (meaning that our staff will happily retrieve the materials for you).
- We encourage visitors to review our FREE downloadable book that reviews our collections, “Foundations for the Future: The Transgender Archives.”
- Review our collections, download our finding aids, and keyword search what you're looking for.
- Only pencil and paper, or laptops, may be used in this area -- pens are not permitted.
- Gloves may be required while using certain materials.
- Use of material is normally restricted to our reading room during regular hours.
- Reproduction by photocopy, scanning, or by any other means, is determined on an item-by-item basis dependent on the material's condition, copyright, and specific restrictions. Self-serve scanners and photocopiers are available (photocopying costs: 12¢/side for B&W, 40¢/side for colour).
- Check out our Archives visitors website to read and watch what others have to say about their visit to the Transgender Archives.
