The "UVic-BYOD" ('bring your own device') service allows students to connect network devices which do not support WPA2-Enterprise security to wireless within residence.
This is intended to remove the need to have private student wireless networks, improving wireless network performance.
Who can use this service?
- Intended for UVic students in Residence.
How do I request or access this service?
Students with a valid Netlink can register devices (up to 3) with the UVic-BYOD wireless network via https://studentbyod.wifi.uvic.ca from on-campus wired or wireless networks.
What is the cost for this service?
This service is provided free of charge.
When is this service available?
This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You can be informed of service interruptions by subscribing to Informed.
