Research & partnerships
Our faculty and student researchers are engaged in exciting and relevant research locally, regionally and internationally. They’re working across anthropology's sub-fields of archaeology, biological and cultural anthropology. We are also deeply committed to Indigenous-led scholarship and research.
A distinctive feature of our research program and graduate training is thematic integration across anthropology's traditional sub-fields. This innovative and exciting approach builds on anthropology's long-standing holistic approach at a time when fracturing along sub-disciplinary lines is becoming the norm.

Colloquium series
We present the latest research in anthropology in our weekly lecture series. The speakers are local and international researchers as well as our current PhD candidates.
Facilities and labs
Our research collections range from stone tools to non-archaeological human skeletons. Our zooarchaeology collection is the most extensive collection of animal skeletons in the Pacific Northwest.

Currents in Anthropology
We host this annual conference to celebrate the research efforts of our undergraduate and graduate students. The presentations represent research completed for in-class and out-of-class projects, honours theses and graduate research.
