Environmental Health

Research in Environmental Health group includes basic, translational, and community-based research. This group examines issues such as how common environmental contaminants lead to disease; how bacteria can be used break down complex hydrocarbons to produce energy; wildlife health monitoring; and development and use of state-of-the-art molecular tools to detect and monitor diverse species, including species-at-risk in the environment. Some members of the group work closely with First Nations, NGOs, and government.
