Flag lowered in honour of Patricia Louie

The university flag will be lowered on Jan 19 in honour of Patricia Louie.

Patricia was an Indigenous graduate student in the Department of Social Work who passed away on Dec. 8.

Patricia was Gwich’in from Inuvik, Northwest Territories. Her career was devoted to social work and promoting mental wellness with the Government of Saskatchewan, the Government of Alberta and on the Gwich’in Tribal Council.

She completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 2013, a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina in 2015 and began a Master of Social Work (Indigenous Specialization) in September 2022.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 19.
