Our goal is in reach: United Way campaign update

The season of giving is upon us, and there is still time to contribute to the UVic United Way campaign. As of Nov. 29, the campaign had raised $212,150—approximately 80 per cent of the campaign target—from pledges and fundraising at campus events such as the Hearts and Hands Craft Fair, Bug Push and UVic Libraries Book Sale.

Everyone who submits a pledge form by Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 will be entered to win one of three fabulous grand prizes donated by campaign sponsors:

• 3-hour sailing trip for four people
• Victoria Royals VIP Suite for six people
• NFL Seattle Seahawks replica helmet autographed by Golden Tate

“Thank you to those who have already contributed to the UVic United Way campaign for your generosity,” says campaign chair Mary Ellen Purkis. “If you have not yet made your donation we encourage you to do so by December 9, so that your contribution will be counted in the 2013 United Way campaign to support individuals, families and community groups in our region.”
