Chemistry show puts the art in science

That Chemistry Show, a fundraising event for the University of Victoria’s United Way campaign, will serve up mad science and cool tricks to delight kids of all ages on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Bob Wright Centre, room A150.

“The show features lights, colours, smoke and even shrinking cups,” says UVic chemistry professor Dr. Alexandre Brolo. “In this show we have fun with science, while raising money to support people in our own community.”

Coordinated by the UVic Chemistry Students’ Association, the event carries on a tradition started by the legendary Dr. Zonk (UVic professor emeritus Dr. Reginald Mitchell), whose shows demystified science and entertained more than 60,000 children from the mid-1970s through 2008.
