Proposed study plan

The proposed study plan helps you look at the courses offered at UVic and see how they'll fit in with your degree studies. You should review your plan with your program adviser, and make sure that you meet course prerequisites.

How many courses should I choose?

Ask your adviser how many courses/credits you need to take.

  • Most UVic students take 3-5 courses per term.
  • Most UVic courses are equivalent to approximately 6 ECTS credits.

You can include up to eight courses in your proposed study plan, so that you'll have options if some aren't available or have conflicting class schedules. This enables you to quickly make adjustments when you register for courses.

1. Submit your application

Submit your application to UVic through the EducationPlannerBC application service. When you're asked to select a program, choose "I am applying through the Study Abroad program".

2. Submit supplemental information

Send the following information to :

  • your proposed study plan
  • an official record of completed courses and grades from your home university, including a list of in-progress courses
  • proof of English language proficiency.

Your application will not be processed until this information is received.

3. Next steps

After your application has been accepted, we'll contact you with information to help you register for courses and plan your Study Abroad experience.
