Gustavson School of Business

The Coast Capital Savings Innovation Centre was originally an initiative of the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business. Gustavson's entrepreneurship team is commited to fostering entrepreneurial pursuits at the University of Victoria and beyond.

The Gustavson School of Business takes a unique approach to business education. We're different, and we want our students to think differently too. We want to develop global business leaders that can help create a better world.

Research Partnerships and Knowledge Mobilization

We've partnered with the Research Partnerships and Knowledge Mobilization unit (RPKM) in the Office of Research Services (ORS).

No matter what kind of research you're interested in, RPKM can help you find partners and outlets to expand what you know (or what you'd like to know) with a suite of practical services that includes partnership brokering, licensing, training, knowledge mobilization and communications planning.

This unit works with scholars in all faculties and with industry, government and community-based organizations looking to collaborate with the range of research talent on campus.

Knowledge mobilization (KM) bridges the gap between knowledge creation and its practical application by turning research findings or creative works into ideas that are ready for action and designed to benefit society.

Industrial Research Assistance Program

The Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) will often share clients with us, and they just happen to be our neighbours in the Sedgewick building.

IRAP provides innovation and funding services customized to your specific needs. Their goal is to help you accelerate the growth of your business through innovation and technology.

Vancouver Island Technology Park

Providing startup help in Victoria and more, the Vancouver Island Technology Park (VITP), a University of Victoria enterprise, facilitates the growth of technology on Vancouver Island by providing physical infrastructure that links provincial, national and international resources with emerging or growing tech companies.

With more than 191,000 square feet of rentable area in Phase I, VITP has designed a master plan that will accommodate an additional 250,000 sq. ft., which can provide an ideal environment for growing technology companies.

VITP offers wet lab capability, specialized electrical and venting systems, and the latest data transfer technology. Flexible designs allow for the changing requirements of existing tenants, as well as the needs of new start-up companies.
