The UVic Privacy Office offers Privacy Training that is self paced with modules for new employees, annual staff training and a privacy toolkit for teaching.

Accounting Services has online Training including an Introduction to Accounting Services, FAST 101 and FAST JV courses in CourseSpaces: Accounting Services Training

University Systems has an excellent University Systems help center with many online training resources including:

  • Cascade Content Management (website)
  • Connect (SharePoint)
  • Phishing Awareness
  • MS Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word and OneNote

Learning and Teaching Support and Innovation (LTSI) has created excellent resources for learning to teach online: Teach Anywhere

Occupational Health, Safety and Environment offers and excellent courses for employees and supervisors in the awareness and prevention of workplace bullying, harassment and discrimination

Work Life Consulting has a new online course in Office Ergonomics on Brightspace to help you set up your home workspace

Outside UVic online learning

Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning) has thousands short courses and learning videos on a wide range of technical, business and creative topics.  It is available for free through most public libraries (including the Greater Victoria Public Library) if you have a library card. Or you can sign up for a free one month trial on the Lynda.com website. Note: as UVic no longer holds a corporate account the free trial and library access are for personal learning only using your personal email address.  Please do not use your @uvic.ca email account.

Coursera offers hundreds of low cost or free university developed courses online. Topic areas include Personal Development, Business and Information Technology

Acumen Academy offers free and low cost courses to a global community of learners to drive social change.  Many courses can be taken as a team over a period of weeks.  Popular free courses include Storytelling for Change, Introduction to Human Centered Design, Creativity and Adaptive Leadership. 

Pulling Together: A guide for Indigenization of post-secondary institutions is an open learning series developed for staff across post-secondary institutions in British Columbia. Guides in the series include: Foundations;[1] Leaders and Administrators;[2] Curriculum Developers;[3] Teachers and Instructors;[4] Front-line Staff, Student Services, and Advisors;[5] and Researchers.[6]

Conference Board of Canada:  UVic employees have free access to the Conference Board of Canada library for free. Past webinars older than six-months are free.

TED Talks are a great way to learn and your team could schedule a time to watch inspiring TED talks together as way of connecting and learning. Brainstorm as a group or assign one of your team members to develop a list of relevant TED talks for the rest of your team.
