Teaching and Learning Indigenous Perspectives

In response to the extraordinary circumstances, UVic is working to move summer session course offerings online; therefore, the Integrated Course Set has been modified for online delivery.

The Department of Indigenous Education at the University of Victoria is pleased to be offering Teaching and Learning Indigenous Perspectives, an IED Integrated 10-Course Set leading to a TQS Upgrade for teachers.

The Integrated Course Set is designed to give teachers an opportunity to learn from and about Indigenous knowledge, and to make valuable connections to local Indigenous communities to strengthen their understanding of Indigenous peoples and societies.

Indigenous Education initiatives continue to be a high priority for School Districts across the province, especially with the requirement of the BCTC Standard 9 and these courses are designed to meet this important and distinct need in a meaningful integrated bundle of 10 courses offered over 13 months (2 face-to-face summers plus 2 terms of online delivery).
