Dr. Phalguni Mukhopadhyaya receives prestigious Walter Shanly Award from Canadian Society for Civil Engineering

The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering has honoured engineering professor Phalguni Mukhopadhyaya with the Walter Shanly Award, the association’s highest award for outstanding contributions by a civil engineer to the development and practice of construction engineering in Canada. 

 “Dr. Phalguni brings together fundamental engineering knowledge and applied research expertise in training next-generation engineers at the University of Victoria and aiding design of sustainable building envelopes and structures,” noted the official award citation read out during the CSCE national conference. “Throughout his career, he has developed numerous research collaborations with industry, academic and government organizations and his research outputs have influenced many changes in building construction practices in Canada and beyond.”
