Edge web template
The Edge web template is the latest version of the UVic web template.
Its design is clean and modern, based on the university's Edge brand. You'll notice the dynamic edge design in the upper right hand corner, as well as lighter weight fonts and buttons. The use of colour on faculty and departmental sites has also changed.
The new template also comes with several behind-the-scenes upgrades and new features:
- Google Analytics
- News system updates and bug fixes
- Social media and email sharing options
- YouTube video embedding block
- Pre-built contact form
- Linking to specific accordions and tabs
- Facebook feed

How do I get the Edge web template?
How do I apply for the waitlist?
We keep a waitlist for migrating sites to the new template. Please contact the university web coordinator to get your site on the list. There are more than 200 sites at UVic, so please be patient with us.
How much does it cost?
Almost all migrations are free for sites already using Cascade. However, the free upgrade does not include modifications to your site other than the template upgrade. If your site has unusual technical requirements, uses software other than Cascade, or you'd like additional work done, we'll work out the details with you.
