Master's Program

Each math student must complete a program consisting of a minimum of 15 units. The program typically consists of a thesis of 6 units, another 4 courses x 1.5 credit each = 6 units of courses at the 500 level or higher, including the graduate seminar (Math 585), and the remaining 2 courses x 1.5 credit each = 3 units units at the 400 level or higher.

Each statistics student can choose between a thesis option or a project-based option. Statistics students take the graduate seminar (Math 585) and take 5 courses x 1.5 credit each = 7.5 units for the thesis option, or 7 courses x 1.5 credit each =10.5 units for the project option.
