Update about using Pro-D funds
July 2024 - The updated PEA Pro-D policy (HR6420) no longer allows ME and PEA staff to use Pro-D funds to buy equipment. This includes:
- computers, laptops, and tablets
- accessories like monitors, keyboards, headphones
- smartphones, smart watches, and storage devices
If you planned on using Pro-D funds for an equipment purchase, you have until December 31 2024. After the deadline, Financial Services may not process your request. All of the policy updates are covered on the HR Benefits site.
The Technology Solutions Centre (TSC) provides assistance to faculty and staff with institutional technology purchases. We can help with:
- buying hardware
- acquiring software
- getting quotes for custom computers and software
- questions about technical approval
Email the TSC or drop by our location in Clearihue C143. We're open Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm.
Looking for UVic standard computers and accessories?
The Microserve portal lets you browse all UVic standard equipment and accessories, including:
- Windows desktops and laptops
- Apple desktops and laptops
- Monitors, keyboards, mice, and more
- Audiovisual* accessories like webcams, headsets, and display adapters
You can also create saved carts, check stock levels, monitor order status, and find information from your previous orders!

Sign in to the Microserve portal using your NetLink IDYou can use the portal to submit standard orders directly to Microserve or to generate quotes for your WebReqs.
