UVic's centrally supported standard for card-based door access makes use of the ONECard platform. Using specialized equipment, access to doors can be restricted to individuals or groups of ONECard holders using contactless cards in lieu of standard physical keys.

How do I request or access this service?
To request a new installation of this service, you must contact Facilities Management.
To gain access to existing doors secured with card-based access, contact the department responsible for the secured area.
What is the cost of this service?
Costs vary depending on the quantity of doors involved, and the area in which doors will be secured. Departments will be responsible for the hardware costs for door access equipment and any associated installation charges.
Departments are responsible for managing access to their own space, or can work with University Systems to establish a service level agreement (SLA) for more complex requirements.
When is this service available?
This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. You can be informed of service interruptions by subscribing to Informed.
