Jackson Chu

Jackson is currently working on predictive habitat mapping of vulnerable marine ecosystems in the Canadian Pacific Ocean. Much of this work feeds into Canada's conservation efforts for establishing marine protected areas on our coast.

UVic is a world leader in deep-sea submersible and cabled observatory technology; the pillars that supported the foundation of my PhD work. These tools have since carried me deeper and further along in my journey of exploring the remarkable marine diversity that exists in our oceans while also allowing me to create the knowledge needed to address the sensitivity of these ecosystems to a changing ocean.
