Arefeh completed her Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Science and Research Branch of Azad University. Now she is a Master's Student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria, supervised by Dr. Andrew Rowe. Her primary research interests lie in the domains of energy systems and decarbonization.

She has work experience as a chemical engineer at Abangan Sanat company implementing water and wastewater treatment plants, where her role involved comparing and checking technical specifications of essential industrial equipment, such as pumps, heat exchangers, biological reactors, mixers, etc. She has also contributed to the development of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) for various water and wastewater treatment projects. Her aim is to develop sustainable and efficient solutions to tackle the challenges of modern energy systems and contribute to global decarbonization efforts.
