Chad Magas

Between the start of his technology diploma and the end of his bachelor's, Chad has had the privilege of completing numerous cooperative work terms in a multitude of different companies. Spanning from consulting to manufacturing, all with one common undercurrent, fluid dynamics. A final co-op as a research assistant in the Fluids Research Lab at the University of Victoria marked the end of his degree. More importantly, this fostered his interest in the field of fluid mechanics. Chad transitioned into his MASc under the supervision of Dr. Peter Oshkai in May 2021, with his primary research interests laying in the realm of hydrokinetic energy harvesting.

Chad’s leisurely pursuits include fly fishing, golfing and reading.
