Siyang was born and raised in China. In 2013, Siyang entered the University of Victoria persuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering . After graduation in 2018, he continued his study at UVic as a master’s student under supervision of Dr. Zuomin Dong. Siyang's research involves hybrid electric (HE) applications on ground vehicles and marine vessels including HE powertrain modeling, control, and optimization. Apart from research, Siyang enjoys sports including fencing and basketball. He also enjoys brewing tea with friends and always welcomes new friends to join.
