Area of expertise

Renewable energy sources complementarity, water-food-energy nexus, design and optimization of off-grid energy systems, integration of variable renewable energy sources, flexibility services from multi-energy systems, hydro hybrid systems

Jakub completed his B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland in respectively 2012, 2014 and 2016. From 10.2018 to 10.2020 he has worked as postdoctoral researcher at MDH University in Västerås, Sweden where he was involved in several projects with partners from European Union and China. He is currently employed as an assistant professor at the AGH University, but from March 2021 will start working at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

His bachelor, master and Phd theses focused on broadly understood, efficient utilization of variable renewable energy sources- in particular solar and wind energy. His current research interest deals with: renewable energy sources complementarity; water-food-energy nexus; design and optimization of off-grid energy systems; integration of variable renewable energy sources to the power system; flexibility services from multi-energy systems; operation of solar/wind – hydro hybrid system.

In his free time Jakub enjoys cycling, weightlifting and spending time outdoors – in particular exploring the far corners of the Northern Hemisphere.
