Economic and financial risks related to climate change, climate policy, applied econometrics and data visualization

Kevin Andrew is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria.  He began working with Dr. Basma Majerbi and Dr. Michael King in February of 2021.  His current research focuses on the impact of risks related to climate change on the financial sector and the economy as a whole.  This research is being supported by the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) in partnership with the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI). 

Kevin is also interested in researching public policies that support the net-zero transition. Ongoing work with Dr. Ekaterina Rhodes at IESVic studies the relationship between public support for climate policy and various contextual factors. He is also interested in the geographical and industrial composition of climate transition risk in the Canadian context. 

Kevin earned his doctorate at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) in Economics. Kevin has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Economics at the University of Victoria. Prior to joining UVic he taught at the Royal Military College of Canada and Queen’s University.
