Dagmar Soennecken is a Visiting Research Fellow at CFGS and a professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration at York University in Toronto. She is also cross appointed to York's Law and Society Program. Her research focuses on comparative public policy in the EU and North America. She is particularly interested in questions concerning law and the courts as well as citizenship and migration, including refugees.

During her time at the Centre, she will mainly be working on a SSHRC/Horizon 2020 research project on vulnerable migrantsDagmar is also the editor-in-chief of Refuge: Canada's Journal on Refugees, one of the oldest, peer reviewed journals on forced migration.

Dagmar’s research interests include Politics and Government , law and justice, migration (esp. refugees) and citizenship, national security, gender, social movements, First Nations, Socio-legal research, comparative public policy.
