Árpád Knap is a Visiting Graduate Student and a Assistant to the Academic Coordinator (Hungary) for the European Memory Politics project. He is a survey statistician who started his PhD in 2018 at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Faculty of Social Sciences, Doctoral School of Sociology in the Interdisciplinary Social Research program. Mr Knap is currently a researcher at the Research Center for Computational Social Science (rc2s2.eu), where his research topics include text mining, natural language processing, quantitative research methods, survey design and data analysis of large datasets. In his PhD thesis he focuses on the applicability of these methods in sociological research, and particularly in online hate speech, political and public discourse analysis.
