Megan Swift

Megan Swift is a CFGS Faculty Fellow, as well as an Associate Professor in the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies.

Her book Picturing the Page: Illustrated Children’s Literature and Reading under Lenin and Stalin was published by University of Toronto Press in 2020 and she has an edited volume on memorialization of the 1917 revolution that will appear shortly. Megan is active in the Canada-Russia Research Initiative at UVic (https://thecrri.ca) and is a faculty fellow at CFGS working on a project that looks at the Arctic as an area of pressing importance for Canada and Russia, and as a geo-political region encompassing crucial ecological, indigenous and security challenges.
