Taiwo’s doctoral research broadly focuses on migration, refugee, internally displaced persons, and the rhetoric of border displacement for citizen participation. His research aims to develop a deeper understanding of the role and influence of territorial border in forced migration, displacement, aid, and intervention. Using applied theatre as a research tool, the study will harvest stories of internally displaced persons in Nigeria for advocacy, and to examine how internally displaced persons can be effectively supported, resettled and integrated into the global community. Prior to his doctoral studies, Taiwo has undertaken both artistic and research projects in China, Burkina Faso, Denmark, Nigeria, Sudan, and the United States. He is an alumnus of the United States Department of States’ International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), founder of Theatre Emissary International, and he graduated from University of Jos, Nigeria.
