Pablo Gonzalez Nieto is a research assistant at the Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research (CISUR) under Dr. Jaime Arredondo, harm reduction worker and drug checking technician for Substance, and a research collaborator with Mexican NGO Verter. His undergraduate thesis focused on the risk environment for people who inject drugs in Mexico’s northern border, focusing on Mexicali and the first safe consumption room in Latin America. He has participated with harm reduction organizations in Mexico, Canada, and the Netherlands, both providing services and contributing to research projects and publications.
