This panel will explore the broad theme of "Asia in Africa" from the perspectives of law, global political economy, and development. In particular, the panel will examine the garment industry in Mauritius, Madagascar, and southern Africa and its links to South Asia; the legal and regulatory challenges arising from inbound FDI from Asia in the extractive industries in Nigeria, and the public international law and domestic regulatory implications of Asian investment in southern Africa.
