Biography

Geoff Steeves is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UVic.  Geoff is also a Global Faculty Member at the International Space University (ISU) where he teaches in the Space Physical Sciences.  He is an elected member of the ISU Academic Council, overseeing the teaching and research activities of ISU. He is a licensed Airline Transport (ATPL) Pilot and Class 3 Flight Instructor.  He completed his Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Alberta studying Ultrafast Microscopy. He continued his studies through an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California Santa Barbara at the Center for Spintronics and Quantum Computing.
