Areas of Interest: Observational Astronomy (photometry, spectroscopy, astrometry); stellar populations, star clusters, dwarf galaxies; data reduction

Peter Stetson is interested in most aspects of observational astronomy, but the bulk of his effort has been in photometry of star clusters, especially globular clusters. He has also worked on stellar populations in nearby dwarf galaxies, and in the field of the Milky Way.

Peter Stetson was a member of the Hubble Space Telescope Key Project on the Extragalactic Distance Scale.

He has spent a lot of time developing software for obtaining photometric and astrometric information from two-dimensional photographic and digital images.
