Victoria, B.C – This Giving Tuesday, the University of Victoria (UVic) shattered records, surpassing $1 million in total funds raised since launching the initiative in 2016. The
milestone reflects the overwhelming support by the community including local alumni for UVic students, programs and initiatives creating meaningful impact for the institution.
Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday is the world’s largest fundraising movement, Giving Tuesday, which is on Dec. 3 this year. According to CanadaHelps’ The Giving Report, 30%
of all donations made annually happen in December, making that the largest month of giving.
UVic is getting ready to add some fun to philanthropy and make a difference in the lives of thousands of students on Giving Tuesday, Dec 3. Giving Tuesday is a global movement to
unleash the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
