It's time to get vaccinated

- University of Victoria

If we learned anything from the pandemic, it’s that public health efforts matter, and we all have a role to play.

As the colder weather approaches, so too does cold and flu season. It’s time to do get vaccinated – for your own wellbeing and for our community.

A Fall COVID-19 booster is recommended for everyone over the age of 5 years. Anyone over the age of 6 months should get an influenza vaccine too. Both shots are free!

Get vaccinated

Safe and plentiful flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are available in your home community.

If you’re registered with the provincial government's Get Vaccinated system, you will automatically receive an invite to book both vaccines online. If you have not yet registered, you can visit the Get Vaccinated page to register.

Alternatively, use the influenza (flu) clinic locator to find an influenza vaccine clinic near you. Students can also book influenza vaccine appointments at the Student Wellness Centre starting in November.

Limit the spread of germs

You can also help limit the spread of germs in the university community by:

  • doing your daily health check
  • staying home if you’re sick
  • washing your hands regularly—hand sanitizer stations are located at the main entrances to and throughout all buildings, and
  • wearing a mask—they’re recommended in indoor public spaces
