New tools to support online teaching

As we prepare to deliver all of our summer courses online this year, UVic is implementing a new and comprehensive suite of tools for online learning, teaching and collaboration.

In addition to CourseSpaces, which continues to be the foundational tool for all learning and teaching-related activities, UVic is obtaining university-wide licensing for:

  • A Zoom pilot, in addition to our licenses for Blackboard Collaborate, and BlueJeans (for video conferencing);
  • Kaltura (for video streaming);
  • Microsoft Teams (for collaboration); and
  • CrowdMark (for large-class marking).

Information on these technologies will soon be available on the Teach Anywhere website. Faculty and instructors should visit this website often for the latest UVic resources related to online teaching.

Additionally, the Division of Learning and Teaching Support and Innovation is developing a Learn Anywhere website with the latest resources related to online learning for students.
