No medical notes needed for students
- University of Victoria
Students, faculty and staff must do a daily self-assessment for COVID-19 symptoms before coming to campus. If you have any symptoms or feel unwell, stay home and do not come to campus.
Students should let their instructors know if they are feeling unwell and are unable to attend class. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, you will not be required to provide a medical note (i.e. a health care practitioner’s note) to your instructor as proof of illness. Please work with your instructors to ensure you stay on track with your course materials.
Faculty and instructors are asked to continue to waive the medical documentation requirement for students who are ill. This strategy was initiated on March 4, 2020 and renewed by the UVic Senate at their January meeting.
