Expert on trio of storms hitting western Canada

Social Sciences

The following University of Victoria faculty member is available to media for comment on the three tropical storms hitting coastal BC over the next few days:

David Atkinson (Dept. of Geography) is an expert on climate change and the impact of extreme weather events, especially storm surges and storm impacts on coastal regions. He can discuss the typhoon-like weather unfolding in the Pacific that is currently bringing a powerful trio of storms (similar to the 1962 Columbus Day storm) to Vancouver Island and BC’s coastal mainland.
