UVic Careers: All systems go

Since 'go-live' in September, 67 job competitions have been completed using UVic Careers, the university's new online job management system, with almost 50 more in process as of late December.

UVic Careers streamlines the recruitment and hiring processes for hiring administrators. The entire process can now be completed online, including extending offers to prospective employees and onboarding new employees. Job seekers are able to apply for jobs, save resum&e#180;s and track the status of their applications anywhere, anytime and from any device.

Survey results suggest that 76 per cent of applicants learn of career opportunities through the UVic Careers website, while 8 per cent find UVic jobs on other online job boards and 5 per cent hear through friends or word of mouth.

UVic Careers training

More training opportunities are available for hiring administrators in 2015. Learn to create a requisition for a job posting, manage candidates, extend an offer and onboard a new employee. Training schedules and UVic Careers user guides are available at www.uvic.ca/hr/services/home/hiring/index.php.
