Kids and summer brain drain

As summer holidays start, the following University of Victoria expert is available to discuss how to combat summer learning loss and who’s most at risk.

Sarah Macoun (Educational Psychology) is a clinical neuropsychologist with a background as a school psychologist. Macoun is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies. She can discuss how summer learning loss happens, in which areas learning loss occurs the most, what we can do to help with this, and the social repercussions of long summer holidays for kids with special needs.

Macoun is available to media on Monday, June 29, from noon to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, June 30, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. (Office: 250-721-7800 or sjmacoun@uvic.ca)
