UVic, PEA reach tentative contract agreement

Negotiators with the Professional Employees Association (PEA) and the University of Victoria have reached a tentative agreement on a new five-year contract. The agreement is now subject to ratification by both parties over the coming weeks.

The PEA represents about 900 administrative and academic professionals at the university. These employees work as counsellors, instructors, system analysts, fundraisers, scientific technicians, engineers, advisers and more.

The tentative agreement has been reached under the provincial government's Economic Stability Mandate. The previous two-year contract expired June 30, 2014.

The PEA will present details of the agreement to its members prior to the ratification vote.
