Global recognition for four "highly cited" UVic researchers

Four UVic faculty members—Ned Djilali and Yang Shi (engineering), Andrew Weaver (science, on political leave) and Pauline van den Driessche (mathematics)—have been recognized in the 2014 list of Highly Cited Researchers compiled by Thomson Reuters. These researchers published work of exceptional value to their field, appearing in the top one per cent of most-cited scientific papers. Among Canadian universities, UVic is fifth on the Thomson Reuters list, with more faculty members among the most-cited researchers than any other Canadian comprehensive university.
