The prestigious REACH Awards acknowledge outstanding contributions to research and teaching excellence that make UVic an extraordinary environment for discovery, creativity, innovation and learning. They include awards for faculty, librarians, instructors and graduate students, recognizing excellence in teaching, research, artistic expression, mentorship, partnerships, knowledge mobilization, community-engaged scholarship and activism.
The deadline for nominations for all awards is Monday, May 16, 2022 at 4 p.m.
Awards for research and creative excellence
- David H. Turpin Gold Medal for Career Achievement in Research - Lifetime achievement honour for faculty, emeritus faculty and librarians
- Silver Medal for Excellence in Research - Faculty and librarians
- Award for Excellence in Knowledge Mobilization - Faculty, emeritus faculty and librarians
- Award for Excellence in Creativity and Artistic Expression - Faculty members, emeritus faculty and librarians
- Award for Excellence in Research Partnerships - Faculty, emeritus faculty and librarians who have collaborated with external individuals or organizations within the last 18 months
Awards for teaching excellence
- Harry Hickman Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching and Educational Leadership - Faculty who have taught for at least three years at UVic
- Gilian Sherwin Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching - Sessional instructors, lab instructors and senior lab instructors
- Award for Excellence in Graduate Student Supervision and Mentorship - Faculty who have supervised graduate students for at least five years at UVic
- Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research-Enriched Teaching - Faculty and librarians
- Award for Excellence in Teaching for Experiential Learning - Faculty and librarians
- Andy Farquharson Teaching Excellence Award for Graduate Students - Graduate students
Awards for community-engaged leadership
- Provost’s Award in Engaged Scholarship - Tenured faculty
- Provost’s Advocacy and Activism Awards in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion - Faculty, staff, students and alumni
